Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) has just wrapped up its first
exhibition for 2021, following the expedited relaunch of Malaysia's
business events industry.
Home
design and interior exhibition, HOMEDEC, has been a "significant part
of our annual event calendar [since 2006] and to host it again after a
challenging two years, is a privilege to me and my team," said Alan
Pryor, GM at KLCC.
"This is made possible by the accelerated government move to re-open
the industry allowing business continuity in the supply chain and
stimulation of our economy. We have worked very closely with the
organisers to ensure a safe and smooth journey for visitors and guests
while at the centre during these four days.”
Running from 28-31 October, the event abided by a host of safety and hygiene measures.
Spreading across five exhibition halls covering up to 10,000sqm, a
fully-vaccinated team of venue staff were trained on 'new normal'
procedures such as the use of thermal scanners, and ensured regular
sanitisation and disinfection pre, during and post-event.
As well as contactless sanitiser stations, KLCC has also installed
finer filters in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)
system to regulate and maintain air quality.
All HOMEDEC delegates had to be fully vaccinated, wear masks at all
times, and were encouraged to pre-register to fast track their entry.
To avoid crowds and long waiting time at entrances, KLCC marked out a
range of public transportation and pedestrian walkways and connections
as optional alternatives for delegates to safely access the venue.
KLCC is also the first venue in Malaysia to attain the “SafeBE”
hygiene label for convention centres by Bureau Veritas, as testimony to
its controlled and regulated event environment.
Already, KLCC has lined up more than 50 events ranging from
conferences, exhibitions, meetings and dinners in its calendar before
2021 ends, including the 5th Selangor International Business Summit in
November, and the 1st Malaysia Engineering Exhibition and Conference in
December.
