The Star Brisbane Event Centre is open for bookings as it gears up to welcome its first guests from April 2024.
The 3,500sqm Event Centre is anchored by Brisbane’s largest ballroom,
for up to 2,000 guests. It lies at the heart of Brisbane’s new A$3.6
billion Queen’s Wharf precinct.
Kelvin Dodt, COO at The Star Brisbane, said the Event Centre would
significantly bolster the region’s destination appeal ahead of the 2032
Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“In designing this high spec Event Centre, we’ve kept variety and
flexibility front of mind, creating a series of transformational spaces
to cater to events of all shapes and sizes. Whether you require a
sit-down gala dinner for 1,400 guests, an 1,800-person cocktail soirée
or a product launch, exhibition or trade show, the Event Centre at The
Star Brisbane inspires big ideas and bold concepts and heralds a
thrilling new era for events in Queensland,” said Dodt.

- The Star Brisbane’s new 3,500-sqm Event Centre has the ability to
host large tradeshows, accommodating up to 120 booths when the Event
Centre Foyer and Ballroom are combined.
- The 2,000-sqm pillarless ballroom is Brisbane’s largest hotel
ballroom with capacity to host up to 2,000 (theatre),1,800 people
(cocktail), 1,440 (banquet).
- Six-metre-high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows to the east for amazing natural light.
- Flexibility to be spilt into five separate serviceable ballroom spaces.
- A pre-function area for pre and post function activities and six breakout rooms that can cater for up to 120 people (theatre).
The Star Brisbane Event Centre will be serviced by four future luxury
hotels including The Star’s signature five-star hotel, The Star Grand
Brisbane, which comprises 340 luxury rooms across two crescent-shaped
towers. It connects via pedestrian link to Brisbane’s South Bank
cultural precinct and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
(BCEC).

The 12-hectare Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct includes the signature
showpiece Sky Deck, Brisbane’s veranda over the city. It will have a
250-m rooftop runway of restaurants and bars floating 100 m above the
Brisbane River, and will become a place where locals and visitors can
meet and mingle, book private functions, or simply soak up breathtaking
360-degree views.
The 12,000sqm open-air Leisure Deck also offers abundant event and
entertainment opportunities and the equivalent of two football fields of
mixed-use space.
The precinct is expected to draw some 1.4 million additional visitors
annually once open.
