In a move to cement its position as a premier destination for international events, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is introducing measures to facilitate easier access for international MICE travellers under the “Thailand MICE One Stop Service”.
This initiative is a joint effort between TCEB and key government agencies, including the Department of Consular Affairs, Airports of Thailand (AOT), and Immigration Division 2.
Key measures for easier access to Thailand are as follows:
Visa for MICE visitors and organisers
- MICE visitors can now enjoy a 60-day stay, extendable by an additional 30 days.
- Event organisers are granted a 90-day stay, which can be extended up to one year.
New visa measures
- Visa exemption has been expanded from 57 to 93 countries and territories, with stays extended from 30 to 60 days.
- Visa-on-arrival with 15-day stay is now available to 31 countries, up from 19 previously.
- E-visa services are being rolled out globally, with plans to cover all 94 Thai embassies and consulates by year-end.
Airport enhancements
- 330 additional officers will be stationed at checkpoints during peak hours.
- A new Automatic Channel system will double passport processing capacity.
- The Thailand Immigration System (TIS) and Advance Passenger Processing (APPS) will enhance security and efficiency.
- MICE Lane Services for VIPs are operational in Bangkok, with plans to expand to Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Udon Thani airports.
MICE Lane Service
- AOT and Immigration Division 2 will cooperate on a case-by-case basis with TCEB in separating MICE groups from ordinary travellers and provide special lane for the groups, accordingly.
- MICE Lane Services for VIPs are operational in Bangkok, with plans to expand to Phuket and Chiang Mai airports by 2025, and Udon Thani airport by 2026.
Speaking at a press conference, TCEB president Chiruit Isarangkun Na Ayuthaya shared that this initiative in preparation for attendees and visitors at upcoming bid-won events, including the IDF Diabetes World Congress 2025 in Bangkok, IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meeting in 2026 in Bangkok, Global Sustainable Tourism Conference 2026 in Phuket and International Horticultural Expo 2026 in Udon Thani.
