HONG KONG — Hong Kong-based Dorsett Hospitality has partnered with genetic testing and digital health company Prenetics to offer DIY Covid-19 test kits to the local community, staff and guests in Hong Kong.

In an effort to help combat the city's third wave, Dorsett has test kits available for purchase at its nine hotels in Hong Kong, with results available within 48 hours. The tests are sold at HK$985 (US$127) and individuals with positive results will be provided with a tele-health physician consultation. Hotel staff meanwhile, will be offered a 50% discount to encourage avid testing.

The test kits offered at Dorsett hotels have a proven 99.9% accuracy and are officially recognised by the Hong Kong government.

The Project Screen by Circle COVID-19 test has been recommended by the World Health Organisation and officially recognised by the Hong Kong government. Prenetics is also one of three laboratories that has been assigned by the government to help with mass community testing.

Hong Kong health authorities, meanwhile, have earmarked AsiaWorld-Expo as a facility to house stable Covid-19 patients. The exhibition venue was previously used as a testing centre for international arrivals when, back in March and April, the city experienced an influx of imported infections.
