Luxury desert experiences, hot air balloon rides, and walking and fitness trails are in the pipeline for Dubai, part of new scenic routes being developed in the destination.
The recently-approved Saih Al Salam Scenic Route plan, part of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, is aimed at increasing the number of visitors by 600% to reach over 3 million by 2040. It includes the development of five tourist stations and cycling tracks, alongside various facilities and activities and events aimed at increasing the number of tourists visiting the area.
The stations include the Main Hub near Al Qudra Lakes, with a traditional market with shops selling local products, alongside an open-air cinema, offering a unique experience of watching movies in a natural setting. The station will also feature luxury marquees, allowing visitors to camp in the heart of the desert near the activity sites along Al Qudra Lakes.

The Wildlife Station will feature various facilities and activities, including hot air balloons that allow visitors to enjoy views of the wildlife, alongside luxury camps and elevated walking trails that will connect to other lakes. Kayak tours will also be offered across the three lakes.
The Adventure Station will include an adventure park and fitness and walking trails, while visitors can ride camels, explore the desert, and enjoy traditional meals at the Cultural Experience Station, located near the camel farm in Al Marmoom. The Desert Adventure Station will offer various activities, such as dune bashing, desert cycling, dune climbing, sandboarding, and desert safari tours.
