Signing success: the MOU includes the provision of event bidding information for past and current events.
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) and Coex
Convention & Exhibition Center (Coex) have signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU). The collaboration aims to exchange knowledge and
expertise, support marketing activities, and facilitate the exchange of
personnel to enhance capabilities in event and conference management.
Mr. Lee Dong-ki, CEO of Coex, stated, “We hope that this signing
agreement will be a significant milestone that helps break the
limitations in terms of competitiveness for both Coex and QSNCC,
enabling sustainable development of the event and conference industry
capabilities.
“This collaboration will open doors to advancements in the exhibition
and conference industry in both countries, through the discovery of new
business opportunities, in addition to what both convention centres
have experienced before.”
Sutichai Bunditvorapoom, executive vice president of N.C.C.
Management and Development Co, the operator of QSNCC, said that the
exchange of expertise and new technologies to support sustainable event
management and draw new profile events from Korean organisers will
provide opportunities for the Thai event industry and creative
industries to grow and thrive, “similar to the Korean event industry,
which has successfully and continuously propelled the entertainment,
concerts, e-sports, and gaming sectors to international markets.”
“The cooperation encompasses three dimensions, including the exchange
of knowledge in basic services, such as management and the exchange of
personnel in the event industry; the provision of event bidding
information including past and current events; and the joint business
development as well as conducting marketing activities,” Sutichai added.
QSNCC, the first national convention centre of Thailand and the
biggest convention centre in Bangkok, and Coex, the biggest convention
and exhibition center in Seoul, are both leading venues with significant
roles in the development of the event industry in their respective countries.
