STB to facilitate government liaison and industry connections to help organisers establish and scale events.
The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) have inked a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in the exhibition industry.
The agreement establishes a cooperative framework across exhibition facilitation, joint promotion and deeper MICE exchange.
As part of the MoU, CCPIT will encourage Chinese exhibition enterprises and institutions to organise international economic and trade exhibitions in Singapore.
STB will support these efforts by facilitating government liaison and industry connections to help organisers establish and scale their events.
Both parties will also jointly promote international exhibitions in sectors where Singapore and China share synergies, including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, technology and innovation, and healthcare.
The MoU also provides for knowledge exchange and deeper collaboration in areas such as sustainable development, digital transformation and talent cultivation within the exhibition industry.
Wu Shengrong, director general of the Exhibition Management Department at CCPIT, said the agreement was an important step to deepen China–Singapore cooperation in exhibitions and strengthen industrial links across China, Singapore and Southeast Asia. He added that practical collaboration between the two organisations is expected to contribute to closer economic and trade ties between the two countries.
Poh Chi Chuan, executive director of Exhibitions and Conferences at STB, noted that Singapore’s position as a hub for innovation, technology and research, combined with its connectivity to the Asia Pacific region, makes it a natural platform for Chinese organisations to engage international partners and markets.
