A panel discussion at the inaugural Leaders of Luxury Summit 2024 in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong’s appeal as a place where luxury brands meet is soaring to new heights, as a result of the destination’s strategic location, wide range of high-end hotels, and its rapid adoption of technology.
The city hosted the inaugural Leaders of Luxury Summit from 26-28 November 2024, which saw a number of luxury industry brands from the limousine, yacht and private jet sectors gather together to discuss topics around the theme of ‘redefining luxury through a global lens’. The event, organised by Robb Report Hong Kong, took place at Regent Hong Kong.
Speaking at the summit, Hong Kong Tourism Board chairman Dr Y.K. Pang said: “As the main growth engine of the global luxury market, Asia-Pacific, including Mainland China, presents immense opportunities. China alone is projected to account for 25% of worldwide luxury sales by 2025. For luxury brands, Hong Kong serves not only as the ideal springboard into this rapidly expanding market, offering a platform to connect with discerning consumers across the region; it is also a powerful magnet attracting all those discerning consumers and HNW individuals, who live the luxury lifestyle.”
Attendees at the summit singled out Hong Kong’s strong market, its trend-setting attitude and its ability to embrace new technologies as particularly attractive. They also said that the destination’s architecture, skyline and high-quality hotels all contribute to Hong Kong’s status as a global luxury hub. Hong Kong’s strategic location as the gateway to Mainland China was also seen as a positive, providing opportunities for business and tourism.
Tak Man, CEO and publisher of Robb Report Hong Kong added: “We are thrilled to host this inaugural Leaders of Luxury Summit in Hong Kong. It is a perfect place with strong connectivity, visa-free policy and excellent hospitality. We are in discussion to bring even more mega events to Hong Kong.”
