The 19th World Congress of Neurosurgery will take place in Dubai come December 2025.
Dubai has been chosen to host the 19th World Congress of Neurosurgery in December 2025, marking the first time this prestigious medical congress will be held in the Middle East.
The successful bid was led by the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons, with key support from Dubai Business Events, the city’s official convention bureau and part of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
Under the theme ‘Connecting the Neurosurgical World’, the congress is the flagship event of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and is held biennially. Scheduled for 1-4 December 2025, the event will welcome approximately 4,000 delegates, including industry leaders, innovators, and changemakers in the field of neurosurgery.
The WFNS’s decision to award the congress to Dubai underscores the city’s rapid emergence as a hub for international association conferences and events. According to the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Dubai ranks as the leading destination in the Middle East for hosting association events. The congress is expected to enhance Dubai’s reputation as a center for scientific discourse and innovation.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, said: “Business events continue to be important catalysts for Dubai’s development, driving economic growth and powering key sectors, including healthcare and medical sciences. The congress will attract luminaries from the field of neuroscience as well as business leaders and innovators, pushing Dubai to the forefront of scientific and technological innovation.”
