Singapore Airlines (SIA) has launched direct flights between Brussels
and Singapore from 6 April, marking the carrier’s return to the Belgian
market after a hiatus of two decades.
The airline will operate four weekly flights between Brussels Airport
and Singapore. Flight SQ304 will depart Singapore for Brussels on
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 11.55pm, while the return
flight – operating as flight SQ303 – will leave Brussels for Singapore
on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 12.10pm.
The flights are operated with the long-haul variant of the Airbus
A350-900 aircraft, offering 253 seats in three cabin classes, including
42 seats in Business Class, 24 in Premium Economy Class, and 187 in
Economy Class.
The reopened flight path is especially significant for Brussels
Airport’s intercontinental network, and it also increases the total
number of European gateways in SIA's network to 13.
Singapore is also an important destination for the Belgian export
economy, with nine percent of Belgian exports going to Asia. Arnaud
Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company, expressed enthusiasm in
connecting Singapore to Brussels, calling the Asian city-state “an
important new destination in our growing Asian network”.
