Malaysian Airlines, Firefly add routes, frequencies.
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), which operates Malaysian Airlines and its low-cost carrier Firefly, has announced a number of new routes to other parts of Asia.
Malaysia Airlines will commence daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Chengdu Tianfu International Airport from 9 January 2026, growing the airline's network in Greater China to seven destinations. The airline currently operates flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Hong Kong and Taipei.
Firefly will launch new jet services to Thailand, Cambodia and the Philippines, with services to Krabi, Siem Reap and Cebu departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport’s Terminal 1 from November 2025 onwards.
In addition to new routes, Malaysia Airlines and Firefly will also increase frequencies across their networks from October 2025. Malaysia Airlines is adding more services to Australia, New Zealand, China, India, the Maldives and Bangladesh, while Firefly is boosting domestic and regional connectivity to Singapore, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Penang and Johor Bahru.
