Macau drums up meetings and incentives game

As Macau continues to ride the momentum since reinstating tourist visas for all Chinese travellers last September, hospitality and meetings players are adding more incentives — chief among them is Sands Resorts Macao.

The integrated resort (IR) has extended its ‘More Than Just Meetings’ offer, which features discounts, entertainment and leisure benefits to assist planners in tailoring their events.

Available for bookings until 30 June 2021 and stays until 31 December, 2021, these deals can be used across any of the IR's hotels: The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, Four Seasons Hotel Macao, Conrad Macao, Sheraton Grand Macao, The St. Regis Macao and very soon, the upcoming The Londoner Macao set to open in early February.

Available for bookings until 30 June and stays until 31 December, 2021, these deals can be used across any of the IR's seven hotels.

Meeting planners can expect incentives such as 5% off master bills, 1 free room and upgrade per 25 rooms booked, discounts on attractions including iconic gondola rides and Eiffel Tower tours, and up to 50% off in-house entertainment.

To sweeten the pot, Sands Resorts Macao has retained the mechanism for stacking the above five benefits — based on number of rooms booked.

For instance, planners who book 25 to 100 rooms can pick two benefits, three benefits for 101-150 booked rooms, four benefits for 151-200 rooms booked, and the maximum of all five benefits when booking more than 201 rooms.

There's also automatic discounts for in-house audio visual rentals, as well as exclusive retail and dining benefits at the IR.

Planners will be looking at 150,000sqm of meeting space, a choice of indoor or outdoor venues, 334 breakout rooms, three theatres, a 15,000-seat Cotai Arena and the upcoming 6,000-seat Londoner Arena — all interconnected and within walking distance from each other.

On the incentives front, groups get a straight up 30% off teamLab SuperNature Macao, an immersive world of 3D artwork experiences located within the 5,000sqm Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo.

All these, while still keeping safety top of mind with Sands Resorts Macao's Sands SafeStay cleanliness and disinfection programme. To deal with continued changes in border closures, planners will be able to reschedule their events within one year without incurring cancellation charges, up until 30 days before arrival date.
