World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM) is investing 3 billion pesos (US$49 million) to expand its facilities, nearly doubling its indoor exhibition capacity as demand for large-scale trade shows and business events continues to grow in the Philippines.

The expansion project will increase WTCMM's indoor exhibition space to almost 20,000sqm, while retaining approximately 7,000sqm of outdoor event space. The enlarged venue is scheduled to open in 2028.

The investment comes as organisers seek larger and more flexible venues capable of accommodating growing exhibitions, conferences and industry events.

According to WTCMM, the expansion is intended to address sustained demand from both domestic and international organisers and strengthen the Philippines' position in the regional MICE market.

“This expansion is an investment in the future of the Philippine exhibitions and events industry,” said Pamela Pascual, chairman and CEO of WTCMM.

“It reflects our confidence in the market, our commitment to helping our partners scale, and our determination to ensure that the Philippines remains competitive in attracting major regional and international events.”

Located in Pasay City, WTCMM is one of the country's largest dedicated exhibition venues and the only Philippine member of the World Trade Centers Association, a global network that connects more than 300 World Trade Center-branded properties and trade organisations worldwide.

The venue currently hosts a range of major trade fairs, consumer exhibitions, conferences and corporate events. WTCMM said growing demand from returning flagship exhibitions and new market entrants had prompted the decision to add capacity and improve venue flexibility.

WTCMM said it will begin accepting advance bookings ahead of the facility's planned 2028 opening, enabling organisers to secure dates and plan future editions of flagship exhibitions.
