The Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS) has announced a leadership overhaul as Aloysius Arlando steps down from his role as president.
The news follows Arlando's recent departure from Constellar Holdings, where he served as chief executive (venues) for more than a decade.
In an official statement, the association expressed "immense appreciation" of Arlando's leadership, first as president elect (2018-2019), and then as president (2019-current).
"The last 20 months have been unprecedented, and challenging for all of us. SACEOS has been working actively with the authorities on various fronts and, through global alliances and advocacy in the reopening process, with president playing an instrumental role," SACEOS stated.
As part of the leadership transition, SACEOS vice president — professional development, Richard Ireland, will assume the role of acting president.
Said Arlando: “SACEOS is the leading voice for Singapore’s MICE and events industry. And there has never been a more critical time for us to be a voice of impact for our community. I look forward to working with the acting president to continue our efforts in supporting the industry during this crucial phase of recovery.”
Arlando will officially step down as president on 8 October, while Janet Tan-Collis will step down as immediate past president on 7 October.
