New CEO role for Simon McGrath

Accor's Pacific chief joins Crown Sydney as CEO and Group Head of Hospitality.

Crown Resorts has appointed hospitality veteran Simon McGrath as its new CEO for Crown Sydney, and Group Head of Hospitality.

McGrath will replace outgoing CEO Peter Crinis, who steps down after serving 24 years in the company.

He begins the new role on 1 February 2022, reporting to Steve McCann, Crown Resorts CEO and Managing Director.

As Accor's current CEO for the Pacific market since October 2020, McGrath has led the way to opening some 400 hotels in the region, while managing a team of more than 18,000 staff.

His 30 years of industry experience span time in Malaysia, Thailand and throughout the Pacific region in major resorts and hotels.

McGrath held senior executive positions in hotel groups including Southern Pacific Hotels (SPHC) and Rydges Hotel Groups before joining Accor as General Manager at Sofitel Reef Casino Cairns in 2005.
