He’s a familiar face in the business events industry for his prowess in communications and content creation.
Prominent business events professional El Kwang has joined The Venues
Collection as its chief commercial officer in Sydney on 12 September.
In his new role, Kwang will bring his expertise in communications and
content creation skills to a team of 40 at The Venues Collection.
CEO of The Venues Collection Christopher Drivas said Kwang’s appointment represents a new era of growth for the company.
“El’s dedication and generosity to the global business events,
tourism and hospitality sectors has made an indelible mark on many
businesses around the world,” Drivas said. “His deep experience and
international insights will be vital to shaping the future of our
company, and I’m delighted to be working with him.”
Kwang, who hails from Sydney, looks forward to returning to his
hometown. “I am beyond excited to be returning home and to work with
this team of talented professionals. We are in the business of providing
a space where people can gather and connect meaningfully,” he said.
Kwang comes fresh out of a three-year stint as VP of finance and
development on the SITE Global Board of Directors. He also co-founded
Beam, where he headed the content and event experience business until
recently.
During his time in Southeast Asia for the last 10 years, Kwang also

Kwang was a strong advocate for industry collaboration, having led
the programme for the Forces of Change Leadership Series with Marina Bay
Sands, played an instrumental in the Singapore MICE Forum, and
co-chaired the Rome and Bangkok editions of the SITE (Society for
Incentive Travel Excellence) Global Conference. He also completed a
three-year stint as VP of finance and development on the SITE Global
Board of Directors.
