Singapore’s Marina Bay skyline is set for another transformation, with a new rooftop joining the iconic boat-shaped SkyPark of Marina Bay Sands.

Part of Las Vegas Sands' next phase of growth in Singapore, the new integrated development – positioned in the ultra-luxury tier – is slated for completion in 2030. Its opening is scheduled for 2031, subject to local regulatory approvals.

When completed, the project – designed by Safdie Architects – will feature a soaring all-suite luxury hotel tower crowned by the “Skyloop” rooftop, built in the shape of twin wings.

Similar to the adjacent Marina Bay Sands, the new ultra-luxury development will feature gaming, retail and dining amenities. The project will also add high-end spa and wellness amenities to the precinct.

In addition to a three-level podium featuring 1.8ha of MICE space, there will also be a 15,000-seat purpose-built arena for live entertainment events.

Leading the construction is Woh Hup, the Singapore-based firm behind icons such as Gardens by the Bay and Jewel Changi Airport. Founded in 1927, Woh Hup is one of the country’s largest privately owned construction and civil engineering companies.

The multi-million-dollar contract was awarded following a competitive tender involving leading firms across the region, with Woh Hup selected for its technical capabilities, track record in delivering complex developments, and expertise in engineering and design management.

Patrick Dumont, chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands, said: "We are pleased to work with a local company that has contributed to many of the nation’s iconic landmarks. This appointment further reinforces our commitment to ensuring Singaporean companies continue to benefit from our long-term presence and future growth, creating opportunities that extend across local industries and the broader economy."

Kim Yong, chairman of Woh Hup, expects the new ultra-luxury development to “stand as a new symbol of Singapore’s ambition and global stature”.

The announcement comes as Las Vegas Sands rides strong performance from its flagship Marina Bay Sands. The integrated resort is said to have contributed 1.2% to Singapore’s GDP, according to an Economic Impact Assessment conducted by Enright, Scott & Associates Limited.
