METT Singapore officially began its year-long phased opening last week, debuting with a section of its 84 rooms and suites, L’Amo Bistro del Mare dining concept, and refreshed event spaces.
Extending its foray beyond swanky restaurants and beach clubs into the hotel space, Sunset Hospitality Group took over the former heritage Hotel Fort Canning and transformed it into the first METT hotel in Asia.
As part of the transformation, METT Singapore modernised the interiors of two ballrooms. At 950 sqm, the Grand Ballroom can seat 700 guests in theatre style, or 450 diners in banquet configuration. The 360-sqm Junior Ballroom – which can be partitioned into three smaller spaces – has capacity for 300 guests in theatre configuration, or 200 in banquet arrangment.
Beyond the conventional hotel event spaces, Sunset Hospitality Group also brought to METT Singapore its penchant for designing social spaces fit for guests and eventgoers alike.
Beach club in the city
Ibiza in the park may soon be a reality with beach club beats soon hitting Singapore’s Fort Canning Park, pulsating across poolside cabanas, daybeds, and loungers.
Evidently, the METT Singapore pool is not your everyday hotel splash zone. Where “pool-view” rooms have generally been losing their lustre among luxury guests craving adults-only escapes, at METT Singapore, it is hot property.
With just one Pool View Suite available (and no other pool-facing rooms), general manager Marcel Li said the 65 sqm space provides front-row seats to the most coveted pool parties. METT Singapore has eight guestroom categories ranging from the 35 sqm Deluxe Patio King/Twin room to the 160-sqm 2-bedroom METT Suite.

Canning Bar & Lounge, the vibrant living room of METT Singapore‘Country clubs’ reimagined
Forget tennis moms, hot stone massages, club sandwiches, and paper-parasol drinks.
METT Singapore rewrites the exclusive private-members’ club with Madisson House, which replaces Hotel Fort Canning’s third ballroom.
When open next year, the facility will greet guests and members with the Longevity Suite, Sunset Hospitality Group’s first in Asia, featuring biohacking programmes, immersive retreats, chiropractic treatments, and other beyond-wellness concepts.
That is not all. At the doorstep of Madisson House is a padel court, the modern-day social space whether for racquet sports or rubbing shoulders.
Culinary stars
On opening day, METT Singapore launched Italian restaurant L’Amo Bistro del Mare, with a captivating atmosphere whether indoors or in the lush outdoor surroundings of Fort Canning Park.
Living up to the group’s culinary credos, METT Singapore will be the next home of the Michelin-starred Art di Daniele Sperindio restaurant.
Beyond creating culinary masterpieces worthy of Art’s two Michelin stars, Chef Daniele would likely also have a hand in shaping the other dining concepts at METT Singapore.
Following the closure of its National Gallery address last year, Art di Daniele Sperindio is set to open in METT Singapore in 1Q 2026.
