Penang International Travel Exchange (PITE) will take place from 4-8 October this year, in a digital format for the second year running.
Malaysia's only homegrown business events trade show will be split into two sessions: Asia Pacific and Middle East from 4-5 October, then the Europe and UK regions from 7-8 October.
Just like 2020, the PITE 2021 Digital Show will feature virtual B2B sessions between buyers and exhibitors, free downloads on Penang's marketing collateral, as well as education sessions in a simulated exhibition centre setting.
Last year's edition also featured a forums series, which was streamed live on PITE's Facebook page. An online contest released in stages also helped keep attendee engagement up.
The programme, owned by Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB), is expected to welcome 100 international buyers per region, and 50 sellers and exhibitors from Malaysia this year.
Registrations for buyers and sellers are now open. Registration fee is pegged at RM$200 (US$47) or RM$100 for PCEB Industry Partners.
PITE 2021 Digital Show is organised by Penang-based Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) ACE Conferences & Exhibitions and official media partner – Travel Industry Network (TIN) Media.
Apart from the markets targeted at PITE, PCEB also made inroads into mainland China this year with its inaugural virtual trade show zooming into top tier cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guangzhou earlier in May.
