There’s a planetarium, a Mozart museum, and more to explore in the Czech capital.

Prague Convention Bureau has announced a range of new meeting spaces, venues and hotels, suited to both intimate gatherings and large events.

Cultural connections

The historic Prague Exhibition Grounds recently unveiled its green roof terraces, part of the renovation of the Křižík pavilions, which can be used for events. The renovated Nová Spirála (New Spiral) Theatre has also opened. When combined, these two spaces can host events for up to 4,500 people.

Two Art Nouveau halls opened last year in Prague’s railway station. Formerly a restaurant and waiting area for passengers, the halls can host conferences for up to 600.

Other venues in the pipeline include the Prague Planetarium; featuring immersive display LED dome technology, it’s set to open later this year and will host up to 700 for an event, with options including an outdoor terrace.

For groups interested in an immersive museum experience, head to the recently opened Mozart Interactive Museum in Malá Strana. The interactive exhibition uses state-of-the-art technology to bring Mozart’s work to life, with the premises available for private events.

Further ahead, the Hydropolis educational centre is set to open in 2027, on the premises of the former Vinohrady Waterworks. It will feature an educational exhibition alongside a water park, a viewing point and a café with a meeting hall for 160 delegates,

Food for thought

Foodie enthusiasts can look forward to the opening of Šlechta Restaurant (Šlechtova restaurace) in the Royal Game Reserve (Královská obora), which will debut later this year following renovations. It will offer three spaces for events, alongside an outdoor promenade and gazebo for events.

The former Slaughterhouse Exchange, located in Holešovice Market Hall, is set to be transformed into Burza restaurant, with a capacity for 300 guests. Nearby, the city’s – as well as the country’s largest – Mexican restaurant opened in March, managed by the Together Group. For a Michelin-starred dining experience, groups can check out Restaurant 420, which caters for up to 200 people.

Rooms with more than a view

Prague’s hotel inventory has expanded in the last year, with the opening of W Prague on the former site of Art Nouveau Grand Hotel Evropa. Located in Wenceslas Square, the hotel offers 161 rooms, with meeting space for intimate gatherings of up to 50 people.

The Cloud One hotel near Masaryk Railway Station opened in summer 2024, with 382 rooms and two event spaces, including a rooftop bar with a terrace for up to 160 guests.

Three more hotels will debut this year. The 320-room Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel is opening this spring, offering six restaurants and bars, a spa, and conference facilities catering for up to 600 people.

The more intimate Sir Prague Hotel opened in March, featuring 76 rooms, while the 100-room, luxury five-star Akroterion in the centre of the city will open later this year. The hotel, built on the site of nine historic houses, will feature a restaurant, a spa and conference facilities.
