Located "door-to-door to the airport and the city", the yet-to-be-completed convention centre is already receiving bookings.
Construction will begin next year on the new Infinity Convention
Centre, part of Crown Group's AU$575 million (US$423 million) mixed-use
project in the bustling Green Square precinct.
Set within a striking 20-storey arched building, the convention
centre will open in the second half of 2021, sharing space with the
90-room SKYE Suites Green Square apartment hotel, plus a retail and
dining precinct.
Location is a key draw here. When it opens, the Infinity Convention
Centre offers direct access from the new Ebsworth Street and a new
underground pedestrian walkway with wheelchair access lift linking Green
Square train station.
According to Crown Group chairman and CEO, Iwan Sunito, the
convenience factor is already attracting groups "who are interested in
booking far ahead of opening time, because it is door-to-door to the
airport and the city, with [Green Square] train station directly below".
The venue can be configured to offer classroom-style events for up to
65 people, conferences for up to 315, sit-down dinners or weddings for
385 people, plenaries for 425 people, and cocktail events for 450
people.
Sunito also positioned Infinity Convention Centre's build as "future-proof" and one that will bring the community together.
“Our sophisticated audio-visual and recording equipment... is
purpose-built for tomorrow’s events and conferences. It will host events
in which sharing ideas on the big screen to hundreds, thousands, if not
millions of people around the world is as important as the live
audience you have in the auditorium, just like in a TedTalk or an
Anthony Robbins webinar."
When it opens, the new venue will also be the first purpose-built
convention centre to open in Sydney since the launch of ICC Sydney at
Darling Harbour in December 2016.
