Taoyuan, a special municipality located in northwestern Taiwan, is expected to come under global spotlight when the 2024 Junior Chamber International (JCI) World Congress comes to town later this year.

Slated to be held at the Messe Taoyuan, the 2024 JCI will be held at the Messe Taoyuan from 29 October to 2 November, with the theme of “Technological Innovation for a Prosperous and Sustainable Future.”

The 2024 JCI is expected to attract over 5,000 international attendees from 120 countries. The event will include exhibitions, conferences, keynote speeches, workshops, debates, business negotiation meetings, and other activities, bringing in global youth leaders and entrepreneurs from 120 countries to participate.

Taoyuan mayor Chang San-Cheng recently attended the 2024 Junior Chamber International World Congress (JCI) launch press conference and investment promotion briefing, where he expressed optimism that events like these could boost opportunities for further collaboration.

Speaking at the launch press conference and investment promotion briefing, Taoyuan mayor Chang San-Cheng has pledged to spare no effort in ensuring the successful hosting of the event.

The major also expressed optimism in the abundance of opportunities for exchange and cooperation between the city government and the JCI, especially in the technology industry and youth entrepreneurship policies. Events such as the World Congress, he stressed, would allow the city of Taoyuan to showcase its characteristics to the world.

JCI hosts four conferences in each region and one world congress that is held in a different location every year. Past world congresses have been held in Zurich, Hong Kong, South Africa and Estonia.
