At The Meetings Show Asia Pacific (TMS APAC) 2025, Indonesia spotlighted a broader mix of business events destinations beyond its popular island of Bali.

The Indonesia Pavilion featured a convention centre, hotels from both Bali and Batam, as well as a destination management company (DMC) from Bintan – reflecting the country’s readiness to promote MICE-ready regions across the country.

While Bali remains a top-tier destination with its natural beauty, cultural appeal and advanced infrastructure, the inclusion of Batam and Bintan – key destinations in the Riau Islands with strong regional access – adds to the country’s appeal for event planners seeking alternative locations.

This focus is closely aligned with Indonesia’s broader tourism and economic development strategies, which aim to drive more high-value travel and expand the country’s footprint in the regional business events sector.

In a significant move for the sector, Indonesia is planning to host a major MICE event in Jakarta in July 2026. Expected to be one of the country’s largest business events to date, the gathering is anticipated to attract wide regional and international participation.
