Tokyo has secured a number of bids for events taking place in 2024, a
clear signal of the growing interest of businesses to return to Japan’s
capital now that borders have fully reopened to travellers.
The city has won the bid to once again host the 17th ACM Siggraph
Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive
Techniques in Asia (SiggraphAsia 2024), which will take place from 3-6
December 2024 at Tokyo International Forum.
This marks the fifth time it will be held in Japan, with the event
having previously been hosted in Yokohama in 2009, Kobe in 2015, and
twice in Tokyo, in 2018 and 2021.
The Global Conference of Responsible Investment will also be hosted
in Tokyo, from 3-5 October 2023, and is set to attract more than 1,000
attendees. The 2023 conference programme will include experts from
policymakers and the broader financial community, and feature a diverse
group of investment industry stakeholders, including asset owners,
foundations, investment managers and service providers.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it is providing a generous
subsidy as needed through financial and in-kind support for the
conference.
Business Events Tokyo, a division of Tokyo Convention & Visitors
Bureau, also recently announced that the city would host the World
Veterinary Cancer Congress in March 2024 and the World Congress of the
International Federation of Fertility Societies in April 2025.
