The 78th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit will see global aviation leaders heading to Doha, Qatar for the second time. Hosted by Qatar Airways, the AGM was originally meant to be held in Shanghai, China.

The decision to change the venue reflects concerns over Covid-19 related restrictions on travel to China.

“This year’s AGM will be an important opportunity for aviation’s leaders to reflect on the shifting political, economic, and technological realities facing air travel as the industry’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic gathers pace,” said Willie Walsh, IATA’s Director General.

IATA’s AGM is typically attended by over 800 representatives from the association’s member airlines, industry associate partners, international and regional associations, leading manufacturers and industry suppliers.
