The Swift International Banker's Operation Seminar (Sibos), one of the world’s leading conferences for the financial industry, will be heading to Beijing, China in 2024, followed by Frankfurt, Germany in 2025.

Organised by the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (Swift), Sibos brings together business leaders, decision makers and topic experts from across the global financial ecosystem to exchange ideas and share insights.

The annual gathering, which has had 44 sessions since 1978, typically attracts 8,000 to 10,000 delegates each year from more than 150 countries and regions.

Next year, Sibos is scheduled to run from 21 to 24 October 2024 at the China National Convention Center.

The forum's presence in Beijing will mark an important milestone in the opening-up of China's financial industry, reported Xinhua News Agency. The event is expected promote communication between China and international financial institutions and drive the financial digital transformation, enabling China to contribute to the development of the global financial industry.

Meanwhile, the 2025 conference will take place at Messe Frankfurt, 29 September to 2 October.

“Each year Sibos brings together the global financial community to debate and collaborate in the areas of payments, securities, trade, technology and innovation to collectively shape the future of the financial industry”, says Jaime Lee, global head of Swift Events & Sibos.

A joint bid between Frankfurt Convention Bureau and Messe Frankfurt in close cooperation with the local organising committee from the financial industry secured the event for 2025.
