MEET TAIWAN, the Japan Convention Management Association (JCMA) and the Asia Venue Alliance (AVA) are inviting convention and exhibition venues to stage community and sustainability-driven activities on 15 May 2026.

Encouraging venues with examples of ‘simple but meaningful’ CSR activities, the MICE bodies suggested the possibility of offering fun incentives for visitors who bring reusable cups, or host community performances.

Organisers say the collective observance of CSR Day across the region is intended as a practical, accessible entry point for venues at different stages of their sustainability journey, while also fostering a more unified regional approach.

The launch accompanied the Sustainability Venue Collaboration Meeting, which brought together venues from Taiwan and Japan to exchange strategies on sustainable operations and net-zero development.

Participating venues – including ICC Tainan, Pacifico Yokohama, Taipei International Convention Center, Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and Osaka International Convention Center – shared case studies spanning energy efficiency, waste management and resource optimisation.

The discussion also drew virtual participation from the Joint Meetings Industry Council and several AVA member venues across Southeast Asia, including Setia SPICE Convention Centre, Ariyana Convention Centre Danang, Borneo Convention Centre Kuching and Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center.
