SILMO Paris will be shifting to Singapore from 2023 to 2025, following an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), events management company MP Singapore and SILMO International signed on 25 September.
SILMO Singapore will be the Asian flagship edition of SILMO Paris, an international B2B eyewear and lifestyle trade show recognised as the global launchpad for new designs, collections, and technologies in the eyewear industry.
Licensed by the SILMO Association in Paris, SILMO Singapore will showcase top global brands and content from the French capital, as well as major optics and eyewear brands from across Southeast Asia.
The show will also feature curated content and platforms for networking and knowledge exchange between industry leaders, with a particular focus on regional trends and interests.
As larger-scale business events and activities resume over the next few years, Jerome Colin, President of SILMO International noted how “Singapore, being an accessible and vibrant gateway to the Southeast Asia region will be able to target significant presence from international trade sellers and visitors, from the optical and eyewear sector industry".
Poh Chi Chuan, Executive Director, Exhibitions & Conferences, STB added that the "inking of our three-year MOU to host the event in Singapore from 2023, demonstrates the continued confidence in Singapore’s role as a leading business events capital, and a launchpad for expansion in Asia".
The first edition of SILMO Singapore will take place at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre from 12-14 April 2023.
A downscaled version of SILMO Paris recently concluded on 24-27 September, after two years of going virtual. The 2022 event will be held at Paris again from 23-26 September, before shifting to Singapore.
