Formerly covering China and India, the In Singapore Incentives & Rewards (INSPIRE) programme - a partnership between Singapore Tourism Board, Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport Group - now extends to corporate meeting and incentive travel groups from Europe and North America.
Launched this week at IMEX Frankfurt, the scheme takes advantage of the projected rise in business travel spending this year. According to the Global Business Travel Association, top Western European markets (Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Italy) are forecasted to experience a 3.1-5.5% increase in spending on international outbound travel; while the United States is expected to see a rise of 1.9-2.3%.
Consisting of curated itineraries centred on the best of Singapore's dining, entertainment and attractions, INSPIRE offers meeting planners benefits before they even arrive. Think group airfare rates, excess baggage allowances and complimentary tickets on Singapore Airlines. For instance, every spend of S$50,000 (approximately US$47,259) for a group size of 20-39 pax entitles you to one economy class ticket.
Once in Singapore, groups can choose from a range of immersive experiences such as a cocktail session at the iconic Long Bar at Raffles Hotel Singapore - home of the original Singapore Sling. There are also thematic food tours and cultural excursions that give visitors a glimpse into the Singaporean way of life.
Groups of 20 or more with flights originating from Europe or North America with at least three nights in Singapore can take advantage of the programme. The travel period must be between now and 31 December, 2017. Interested parties should register by 31 March, 2017.
