Just 10 minutes from Penang International Airport, the newly
renovated Setia SPICE Convention Centre has emerged as the city’s
largest eco-friendly convention and lifestyle venue with supporting
infrastructure and services. Its six-acre rooftop garden is an open
lawn, ideal for small events, whilst its 4,500 sqm pillarless ballroom
hosts 400 pax banquet-style, or 8,000 theatre-style.
The venue is committed to sustainability and has a food composting
machine to turn event food waste into bio-organic soil enhancers.
Leftover banners from exhibitions are used to produce merchandise such
as totebags, shopping bags and name card folders, and rain water is
stored to water its plants, reducing water consumption by 10-15%.
Connected
to the centre via a covered walkway is SPICE Arena, a 3,100 sqm
multipurpose facility for shows, concerts, sporting events and
exhibitions. Additional 4,300 sqm of floor-space is available at the
concourse level for 10,000 pax with terrace seats, supported by seven
function rooms.
The newly opened 453-room Amari SPICE Penang is linked directly to
the convention centre with 509 sqm of event space in 8 meeting rooms,
with a maximum capacity of 431 pax.
Just a short walk away is the Setia SPICE Aquatic Centre, the largest
indoor saltwater Olympic-size pool and competitive diving platform
venue where delegates can make a splash to unwind.
