When Bangkok's Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) reopens
this September after a massive three-year facelift, not only will it
become the Thai capital's premier events venue, a new 'active lifestyle'
mall is also set to attract the fitness- and wellness-seeking
post-Covid crowd.
Bangkok’s
Active Lifestyle Mall (BALM) is set to house more than 100 leading
retail brands, restaurants and amenities over 11,000sqm of space,
divided into zones such as F&B, event support, and ‘Active
Lifestyle’.
Apart from the organisers and delegates attending events at the
convention centre, BALM was built to attract health and fitness
enthusiasts, urban workers and families, where recovering from the
stress, anxiety, and physical impact of Covid-19 has taken precedence
globally.
Owner N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd expects that the
grand dame of Bangkok's events venue scene will attract "more than 13
million visitors per year" when it opens, which is why retail space was
expanded by 30%.
Situated within QSNCC, BALM will enjoy easy access from the MRT and Benjakitti Forest Park.
Entrusted by NCC to develop and lease QSNCC’s retail space is Frasers
Property (Thailand) Public Company Limited’s retail business
development sector, which has Samyan Mitrtown and Silom Edge in its
portfolio.
