Event organiser Constellar has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing to explore strategic partnership opportunities and facilitate MICE industry exchange between Singapore and China.

The MOU with CNCC will strengthen the Greater China footprint of Constellar as it looks to build its portfolio in 2023 through organic and inorganic growth. Constellar, which manages the Singapore EXPO venue, says there is a growing demand for events to be hosted there, with bookings having reached about 65% of pre-Covid levels thus far.

The partnership will also help support CNCC, China’s largest convention centre, with a growing number of international events and meetings returning to Beijing following the reopening of China's borders earlier this month.

Jean-François Quentin, Constellar's group CEO, said: “Asia's MICE landscape remains dynamic with pent-up demand and strong growth opportunities. With Singapore and Beijing as two of its most important economic centres, Constellar and CNCC can play a key role in restoring vibrancy to the MICE industry through strengthening platforms for business and industry transformation.

Wei Mingqian, general manager of CNCC, added: "We look forward to combining our knowledge, boosting mutual exchanges, and joining forces to enhance industrial cooperation and exchanges between China and Singapore."
