The experienced hotelier has served multiple roles in Malaysia's top hotels, such as Equatorial Cameron, Concorde Kuala Lumpur, and Berjaya Hotels & Resorts.
Michael Tang has been appointed as general manager at the 218-key Dorsett Putrajaya from 1 June 2021.
Tang was most recently general manager for Upper View Regalia Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, a hotel owned and managed by Mayland Group of Companies and affiliated to Dorsett.
The veteran has more than 25 years of hospitality experience, which began in 1996 in his hometown of Penang, at the Casuarina Beach Resort.
He later joined teams at Malaysia's top hotel brands, including a sales role at Equatorial Cameron, associate director of sales at Concorde Kuala Lumpur, and in 2009, managing Berjaya Hotels & Resorts' four properties.
In 2011, he became director of sales & marketing with HPL Hotels & Resorts, managing the group's sales and catering division of Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
