BALI – Katya Herting has been appointed as general manager for Raffles Bali. She joins the hotel after her most recent stint as hotel manager for Swissôtel The Stamford and Fairmont Singapore.

A successful internal transfer, the German native has taken multiple roles in her time with Accor globally, including executive housekeeper at Swissôtel Quito in Equador, director of housekeeping at Swissôtel The Stamford, Director of Operations in Swissôtel Lima, Peru prior to her Singapore posting.

With over 20 years of hospitality experience since beginning her career with Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Germany – now a Fairmont Hotel – she is also the brainchild behind multiple sales and digital initiatives which elevated the brand to new levels.

In her three years as executive assistant manager, Rooms for Swissôtel The Stamford and Fairmont Singapore, she introduced the TSA upsell tool, which led to both hotels exceeding the original goals of S$1 million each: S$1.2 and S$1.1 million respectively. Her e-housekeeping initiative also helped bring down labour cost by 14%.

Other contributions include the digital newspaper which brought over $100,000 in savings per year, and digitalising the entire check-in-and-out journey for the 1,200-key Swissôtel The Stamford.

Moving to Bali in April 2019 to steward the pre-opening of Accor’s Raffles property, she will be responsible for reaching the brand’s business objectives and factors such as ensuring guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, brand consistency, gross operating profit and revenue per available villa. Establishing brand philosophy and implementing hospitality concepts in line with the Raffles brand and current market trends will also be under her jurisdiction.

One of Accor's most iconic luxury brands, Raffles Bali soft-opened over the weekend on 4 July, with a distinct focus on wellness travel to woo crowds seeking to rebalance body, mind and soul amid the global lockdowns.
