Groups can enjoy dining with a difference at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, with the launch of The Magic Table culinary experience featuring interactive magic and 3D storytelling.

Led by Thommy Ten & Amélie van Tass, known as The Clairvoyants, and stars of America’s Got Talent and Las Vegas, the experience makes its world debut at Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in September.

The experience is enhanced by themed music, props and a menu, bringing guests’ dinner to life through 3D storytelling and interactive magic. A virtual story will be projected onto tabletops by mapping the dining table and its objects, such as plates and cutlery. This approach creates a 3D effect, resembling a hologram, using special optical techniques and length distortions to produce the illusion of depth.

A range of five-course menus are on offer, including The Grand Illusion Menu with beef tartare, foie gras and beef tenderloin and lobster, The Wizard’s Essential Menu featuring beef tenderloin and tiger prawn and a vegetarian version, The Enchanted Garden.

Grand Hyatt Hong Kong also welcomed guests to Le Petit Chef’s Dining Room earlier this year, taking them on a gastronomic adventure into the animated world of Le Petit Chef

The culinary adventure features 3D visual mappings that invite guests to follow the six-cm-tall little chef from France on his quest to gather the finest ingredients and prepare the dinner. The experience brings the miniature chef to life on guests’ dinner tables, with a menu featuring bouillabaisse, lobster and steak, alongside vegetarian options.

Both experiences can be privatised; for Le Petit Chef the maximum group size is 24 people, while for The Magic Table, group sizes can be either 32, 40 or 70 people in the same venue. Groups can also enjoy a tailormade menu featuring logos or specific messages.
