Iconic Marjorie Hotel, operated by Marriott Bonvoy, has opened in Penang, offering groups a sustainable venue with ample room for meetings and events.

Located in the Bayan Lepas suburb of Penang, the 298-room hotel, part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio, features a modern design with Peranakan-inspired elements.

For meetings and events, the Marjorie Grand Ballroom spans 1,321 sqm, featuring high ceilings and state-of-the-art technology, accommodating up to 800 guests. Six additional function rooms cater for a variety of events and social gatherings, for groups ranging from 500 to 130 pax theatre-style, while boardroom-style meetings and workshops can also be hosted for smaller groups.

The hotel integrates innovative eco-friendly initiatives into its design and operations, including solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and energy-efficient features designed to reduce its environmental impact. Guests can view the hotel’s real-time resource usage on an interactive display, promoting awareness of the hotel’s sustainability efforts.

In keeping with its design, the hotel’s dining concepts combine the best of Peranakan and international cuisines, while wellness facilities include a fitness centre, an infinity pool and a rejuvenating steam room, with a spa set to open in the coming months.

The hotel is located around 10-minutes’ drive from Penang International Airport and 30 minutes drive from George Town.
