Rosewood Hangzhou will sit in a mixed-use development, with environmental preservation a key factor in design and overall operations.
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its footprint in China with Rosewood Hangzhou, slated to open in 2026.
Located in the emerging Wangjiang New City of Hangzhou, the luxury hotel will be housed in an upcoming 740,000sqm mixed-use development project, which will include office buildings and workspaces, luxury apartments, cultural attractions, and a K11 Art Mall.
Rosewood Hangzhou itself will be a standalone building spanning 25,000sqm over 16 storeys, offering 140 rooms, including 17 suites. The hotel will offer four F&B outlets, as well as a new culinary and retail hybrid concept that combines a flower shop, living room lounge and patisserie into one space.
Planners can also pick from 1,100sqm of meeting and event spaces which includes an 800sqm ballroom. Other amenities include a fitness centre, indoor pool and hydrotherapy areas.
Overall, sustainability and environmental preservation are key factors in Rosewood Hangzhou's design and operations. This includes earning the LEED and WELL certifications, which mean building a green hotel with maximum sustainability features.
The new build will also be connected to two subway lines, towards the CBD of Qianjiang New City and iconic attractions such as the West Lake.
“Hangzhou is a prosperous and dynamic city which offers serene natural wonders and rich culture for artistic exploration, as well as a setting for the development of new ideas in business and technology, making it well suited for both leisure and business travellers," said Sonia Cheng, chief executive officer of Rosewood Hotel Group.
This marks Rosewood's ninth hotel in Greater China and 17th in Asia, part of a regional expansion plan which includes a pipeline of five hotels in destination like Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hoi An.
