Designer hotel collection, Ovolo, has launched a 'vax pact' to vaccinate 100% of its employees in Australia, Hong Kong and Indonesia, also rewarding guests for taking the jab.

In Australia, the initiative will mean all employees will be fully vaccinated by 31 December, 2021.

As for Hong Kong, 85% of employees have had their first vaccination and 70% the second, while 98% of Bali employees have had their first vaccination and 76% the second.

"The immediate future of tourism and hospitality depends on high vaccination rates, and as a business we have a responsibility to our industry to drive this — we will do within our power, whatever it takes!" said Girish Jhunjhnuwala, Founder & CEO of Ovolo Group.

By "whatever it takes", Jhunjhnuwala is referring to providing time off, covering out-of-pocket expenses associated with vaccination, and even considering rewards or incentives for employees.

Ovolo will soon announce incentives for fully vaccinated guests who stay, drink and dine at any Ovolo hotel in Australia, including dining offers, competitions and additional Ovolo Perks when they present their vaccination certificate.
