Langham Hospitality Group has launched Cordis, Shanghai, SeaWorld, its third hotel in China’s bustling economic capital, and second in the city under the Cordis Hotels and Resorts brand.

The new hotel houses 274 luxurious rooms and suites, ranging from 41-184sqm. Each is exquisitely decorated in line with the property’s elegant design concept, which incorporates iconic elements of Shanghai culture and was also inspired by the nearby confluence of three rivers.

For meetings and events, the hotel provides over 1,700sqm of versatile space comprising an opulent column-free grand ballroom spanning 852sqm; a spacious hall with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows and unobstructed river views; and five flexible meeting spaces ranging from 53-213sqm.

The hotel also boasts a range of luxurious offerings including a 20-metre indoor swimming pool and a sizeable fitness centre. Guests can also indulge in the hotel’s diverse range of food and beverage outlets, which include a branch of famed Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant Ming Court; all-day dining eatery Cordis Market; nautical themed Navigator Bar; and The Lounge 1872, which offers a rich variety of desserts and speciality cocktails.

As part of the Shanghai SeaWorld complex, China Merchants Group’s all-new urban tourism and cultural hub, the property is poised to become a premier destination for both leisure and business travellers.

Like its sister complex in Xiamen, Shanghai SeaWorld is attached to a cruise terminal – the largest in Asia. The development will also include commercial, residential, and office spaces to create a new and eclectic urban hub in what is China’s leading city in terms of GDP.

Shanghai SeaWorld is additionally surrounded by key cultural sites and technology zones, including the Changtan Music Hall, the Shanghai Mobile Internet Innovation Park, and the Shanghai Robotics Industry Park, making it a vibrant hotspot with much to see and do.
