The National University of Singapore (NUS) is strengthening its appeal as a host for academic events with the launch of The Ridge, a 185-room campus hotel designed for visiting academics, executive learners and conference delegates.
Previously, visitors from abroad had to find their own accommodation outside campus. According to NUS, the university hosts around 8,000 to 10,000 overseas visitors each year.
Purpose-built for academic and professional visitors rather than leisure travellers, the hotel offers three room categories – Deluxe Rooms, Premier Rooms and Premier Suites – alongside high-speed internet, 24-hour concierge services and dedicated meeting facilities for smaller in-house conferences and executive programmes.
Guests also have access to selected facilities at nearby NUS Society, Kent Ridge Guild House, including a 50m swimming pool and a 539-sqm fitness centre, extending the appeal for longer-stay delegates.
The Ridge, however, is not open for bookings from the public or tourists.
