Marriott restructures APEC team for growth

Its consumer operations team (excluding China) will focus on guest experiences and regional growth.

Marriott International is restructuring its consumer operations team in Asia Pacific (excluding China), led by John Toomey, chief sales and marketing officer for APEC, with internal promotions and strategic appointments to enhance guest experiences and drive regional growth.

Ramesh Daryanani, VP, global sales, loyalty operations and partnerships

In a newly created position, Ramesh Daryanani is appointed as VP, global sales, loyalty operations and partnerships, APEC. With a tenure at Marriott International since 2007, Daryanani will focus on driving operational excellence for Marriott Bonvoy in APEC and spearheading loyalty partnerships to enhance value and engagement for the travel programme.

Mei Xue Ying, VP, marketing

Mei Xue Ying assumes the role of VP, marketing, APEC, overseeing the consumer portfolio marketing strategy for premium and select brands, loyalty, food & beverage, digital, and performance marketing. In her elevated role, Ying aims to enhance portfolio coordination and increase Marriott’s market share through innovative demand generation strategies.

Tessa Rahardjo, VP, revenue strategy

Tessa Rahardjo has been promoted to VP, revenue strategy, APEC. Tasked with leading the revenue strategy discipline for the region, Rahardjo will play drive topline and market share performance, and foster the growth and development of Marriott’s Revenue Leaders.

Khushnooma Kapadia, VP, marketing, South Asia

Khushnooma Kapadia, recently promoted to VP, marketing, South Asia, will spearhead the region's marketing and digital strategy, enhancing brand awareness, fostering loyalty, and nurturing partnerships. Her creative passion and media expertise have driven remarkable growth.

Jason Nuell, VP, customer experience and food & beverage design services

Joining the team is Jason Nuell, who assumes the role of VP, customer experience and food & beverage design services, APEC. Formerly the global senior VP of premium brands at Marriott International's headquarters, Nuell will lead the regional brand strategy, encompassing brand management, activation, and design review across APAC.

Ashley Hansen, VP, sales & distribution

Ashley Hansen, with almost 28 years of hospitality experience, has been promoted to VP, sales & distribution, APEC (excluding South Asia). Hansen will lead the sales and distribution function, steering teams to cultivate long-term customer relationships and executing the commercial strategy for Marriott International’s portfolio in the region.

Monisha Dewan, VP sales & distribution, South Asia

Monisha Dewan has been appointed as VP sales & distribution, South Asia, overseeing sales, distribution, and performance services for the region. Dewan is committed to driving revenue growth and positive market share for the company in the South Asia region.

Wong Ching Yee, VP, communications

Wong Ching Yee has been appointed as VP, communications, APEC. With over two decades of communications experience in global technology and media companies, Yee will oversee communications strategy and execution across both corporate and brand public relations.

Jason Zhang, VP, digital, Asia Pacific

Based in Shanghai, Jason Zhang continues to spearhead the digital products and platforms team as VP, Asia Pacific digital. Zhang, who joined Marriott in 2018, will focus on driving the transformation of digital customer experiences in the region.

Mark Shrives, senior director, client services, digital services, APEC

From Bangkok, Mark Shrives leads Marriott Digital Services (MDS) as its senior director, client services, APEC. Alongside his team of over 35 digital consultants, Shrives guides Marriott International APEC’s portfolio of hotels in the direct implementation of cutting-edge digital strategies.
