last component, the Medispa, scheduled to be launched this year.
The venue in Kuala Lumpur’s Sunway City is part of a fully-integrated
township comprising Sunway Lagoon theme park and Sunway Pyramid
shopping mall. It has meetings facilities with LED screens that are
spread over three levels in the Grand Lagoon Ballroom on level 15 and
Arena 4, Level 12’s Grand Congress and Level 10’s Grand Forum. Other
function rooms at Sunway Resort Hotel are outfitted with 85-inch Smart
TVs.
Special meeting packages are on the Sunway Pals app. The hotel is
currently working on the development of hotel loyalty programmes for the
future.
Jeanne Chan, director of commercial, Sunway Resort Hotel, said: “In
general, our outlook for 2024 in the MICE sector is positive. We have
successfully bid for and secured several promising and prominent MICE
leads on an international level for 2024, 2025, and 2026. These leads
were acquired through participation in International Trade Shows such as
IMEX Frankfurt, WTM London, and IBTM World Barcelona.
“The industries experiencing significant growth and activity include
medical/pharmaceutical, IT/telecommunications, finance, MLM, and
education.
“European countries have shown a renewed interest in Southeast Asia,
and while we face competition from Singapore and Thailand, our advantage
lies in the strength of the Malaysian currency. Coupled with Malaysian
hospitality, vibrant culture, diverse cuisine, favourable weather, and
our comprehensive hotel facilities - including rooms, banquet spaces,
and attractions like the Theme Park and Shopping Mall - we are
well-positioned to attract and secure opportunities.”
