Lobby of the new Hyatt Regency Shanghai Songjiang.
The newly opened Hyatt Regency Shanghai Songjiang is bringing 1,900sqm of meeting space to Shanghai's Ecology Business District.
The 256-room hotel looks out to Wulong Lake in Songjiang, a suburban district known locally as the ‘Root of Shanghai’. While Songjiang melds four cultures dating back 6,000 years, the district has in the past 20 years taken on a modern character with the ascription of Songjiang’s Economic and Technological Development Zone, welcoming more than 1,000 business enterprises and spearheading the development of western Shanghai.
Connected on the Shanghai metro, Songjiang is a choice location for events, corporate and leisure travellers. Hyatt Regency Shanghai Songjiang’s location in the central Ecology Business District also enables easy access to Songjiang’s business parks and tourist attractions, such as Guangfulin Ancient Relics Park and Chenshan Botanical Gardens. The hotel is a five-minute drive from Songjiang University Town metro station and 40 minutes from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
Event venues
The new Hyatt Regency Shanghai Songjiang boasts a range of venues totalling 1,900sqm for different event types.
On the third floor, a 1,350sqm Regency Ballroom and five multi-functional events rooms can host events of between 60-600 guests. The venues offer natural light and technology equipment, including a 100sqm HD LED screen.
In addition, the lakefront lawns serve as a scenic backdrop not only for weddings, but also cocktail parties and other outdoor events.

Each of the hotel's 256 guestrooms, 18 of which are suites, feature floor-to-ceiling windows that look out to the Wulong Lake, gardens and urban skyline. Select rooms come with Garden Terraces that give guests a view of sunsets and access to the sixth floor Regency Club Lounge with its own lakefront terrace.
The hotel’s interior design concept takes inspiration from Songjiang culture and natural surroundings. As Songjiang is famous for its textile industry, traditional local cloths with tie-dyed blue fabrics and the typical patterns of the region are used throughout the property. The ceiling and lights in the Regency Ballroom reflect Songjiang’s rich river system resembling starling sprinkled on the flowing waters.
