The first hotel has opened its doors on Dubai's long awaited World Islands project, where it'll be dedicated solely to the 70-key Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort.

As the new build is located some 4km off Dubai's coast, guests staying at the resort will first arrive and check in at sister property Anantara Dubai The Palm, before taking a 15-minute speedboat ride to the private island.

Guests can check into a mix of one or two bedroom suites, while larger groups can opt for one-to-four bedroom beach or pool villas, which offer a private temperature-controlled pool, outdoor dining area and direct access to the beach. On the design front, the resort combines Maldivian elements with Thai roots.

Other amenities include in-room spa treatments, a gym, yoga hall and padel court. Apart from in-villa dining, there are four F&B options to pick from.

All-day dining Helios offers Mediterranean plates with Dubai skyline views, Arabic and Indian cuisines at Qamar, lobby lounge the Grand House, or South American specialties at Luna with a side bar lounge — where groups can opt to wine and dine by the oceanfront.

Eco-conscious companies and guests should know that the resort runs by a no-plastic policy, offering compostable coffee pods for in-room mini bars, and using Anantara’s filtration system to serve water to guests in refillable glass bottles.

The resort is also in the midst of setting up its greenhouse, which will eventually deliver produce to support its F&B outlets.

Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort is owned by luxury real estate and hospitality developer Seven Tides Limited. Leading the new opening is general manager, James Hewitson.
