Conrad Hotels & Resorts has made its debut in Shanghai, offering
728 keys and events space in the heart of People’s Square, a major
transport hub along famed business and tourism district.
Guided by traditional Chinese philosophy and architecture
philosophies, Conrad Shanghai's design for instance infuses the five
natural elements, while hallways, lounges and rooms showcase traditional
calligraphy, paintings, and pottery.
Planners are offered 2,500sqm of pillar-less event spaces, including
the 864sqm ballroom which hosts up to 600 guests, 13 meeting rooms, or
head up to the exclusive Hu's Penthouse on the 64th floor.
Amenities include a spa, pool, fitness centre, four restaurants and one bar.
The 66-floor luxury hotel overlooks some of Shanghai's iconic
attractions, including East Nanjing Road commercial street, the Bund,
and Pudong’s iconic skyline.
Its location also grants hotel guests easy accessibility to the
Shanghai World Financial Center, Shanghai Museum, Shanghai Grand
Theatre, Xintiandi, the Bund, Yu Garden, traditional local
neighbourhoods as well as mega shopping malls.
“We are thrilled to build on our robust luxury growth in Asia Pacific
with the launch of the first Conrad in Shanghai, joining our 17 luxury
hotels in Greater China with a further 10 under construction,” said Alan
Watts, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton.
Conrad Shanghai is the second Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in
collaboration with local owning company, Shimao Hotel Management Group,
who shares "our optimism for China’s luxury travel segment," adds
Watts.
