Club Med in Malaysia joins the happy gang of hotels and resorts in the region which are witnessing a remarkable surge in bookings, particularly from the domestic and Singapore market.

Olivier Monceau, GM of Club Med Singapore and Malaysia said: “In 2022, Club Med in Singapore showcased resilience and determination through a significant increase in group sales. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the number of groups travelling in the second half of the year equalled the total count in 2019, showcasing an impressive recovery.

“In Malaysia, we are also witnessing exponential growth in the meeting and incentive group business. We saw five resort buyouts in our domestic market in 2022 alone, which indicated a strong interest in hosting exclusive group events. Compared to 2019, our business volume has grown by an impressive 17%.

“This demand continues to surge in 2023 and we have witnessed a peak of 36 group departures to both domestic and international resorts within a single month.”

Over 50% of group bookings consist of travel and bleisure trips and witnessing an increasing demand for big groups taking advantage of our Rent-A-Village option, which allow them to book the entire resort exclusively for their event. This unique offering caters to the specific needs and desires of larger groups providing an unparalleled experience in a private setting.

Construction is currently underway at Club Med Borneo in Sabah. This first large-scale sustainably built BREEAM-certified beach resort will open in end-2024.
