Canopy by Hilton London City opened in late October, an eco-conscious hotel offering 340 keys with event space in London’s East End.

The opening marks Hilton's first Canopy by Hilton property in the UK, which is housed within the multi-million-pound Minories development close to Aldgate station.

Modern artists and local designers' work also the hotel's public spaces and the spirit of the East End is also evident in the hotel's F&B outlets, such as at specialty restaurant Penny Squares which sources local sustainable ingredients and collaborates with local distilleries, craft brewers and wineries; and Freedom Café — named after Freedom Press Publishing House in Whitechapel High Street.

Event planners can book the 97sqm Dunstan Den, suitable for events or private dinners.

The hotel’s rooftop restaurant, slated to open early 2022, will serve as a vantage point that offer panoramic views of the City of London while guests indulge in tapas-style dining against the restaurant’s backdrop inspired by the floral patterns of the Huguenots.

Aside from pulling in the design-conscious crowd, Canopy by Hilton London City also seeks to draw in eco-friendly travellers with its sustainability initiatives that include a green roof which helps with natural heating, solar panels to power parts of the hotel, beds made from recycled steel and wood, as well as sustainably-produced amenities.
