The 24-storey Sheraton Kota Kinabalu has risen as one of the tallest towers in Borneo, opening on Jalan Albert Kwok within walking distance of the waterfront and the city’s commercial core.

At the centre of the hotel’s MICE offering is a 703 sqm Grand Ballroom, which can host up to 920 delegates in theatre style, or 580 guests for banquet functions, with capacity extending to 1,150 for receptions. For planners requiring flexibility, the space can be partitioned into three sections, allowing simultaneous breakouts or scaled-down plenaries.

Complementing the main ballroom is a 140 sqm Junior Ballroom, which can be divided into two smaller rooms. In its combined format, the space supports theatre-style meetings for up to 120 participants, banquets for 80, or cocktail receptions of up to 233 guests.

The hotel also offers a suite of dedicated meeting rooms. Meeting Rooms I and II, when combined, provide a further 140sqm of flexible space, and capable of hosting up to 120 delegates in theatre configuration, 80 for banquets, or 233 for receptions.

A smaller 41sqm Meeting Room III caters to executive sessions and workshops, with capacities ranging from 16 delegates in U-shape configuration to 40 delegates theatre style.

For VIP use and organiser support, a 23 sqm holding room is available for up to 12 guests, while a 319 sqm ballroom foyer serves as a generous pre-function area, suitable for registrations, networking breaks or sponsor activations.

Adding an option for social and destination events, the hotel features a 110 sqm Wedding Pavilion set above the city, overlooking the sea and surrounding islands. The venue accommodates ceremonies of up to 60 guests in theatre configuration, cocktail receptions for 132, or banquets for 50, positioning it for weddings, private celebrations and premium incentive functions.

Beyond meeting space, Sheraton Kota Kinabalu offers 307 guestrooms and suites, including Executive Rooms and Suites with access to the Sheraton Club Lounge, which doubles as an informal meeting and networking venue for business travellers.

Food and beverage venues include Daily Social (all-day dining), &More by Sheraton (coffee-to-cocktails concept), and a Rooftop Bar located approximately 100 metres above sea level, offering panoramic views over the South China Sea for evening receptions.

Wellness facilities include a fitness centre, spa and rooftop infinity pool, supporting incentive programmes and extended stays.
