Hotel touts ‘Certified Sustainable Gatherings’ that minimise environmental impact.
1 Hotel Tokyo is set to open in Akasaka in March 2026, marking the sustainable luxury brand’s debut in Japan.
The 211-room hotel occupies the 38th to 43rd floors of Akasaka Trust Tower, part of Mori Trust’s Tokyo World Gate Akasaka development.
1 Hotel Tokyo features 211 guestrooms, including 20 suites and three penthouse suites, with floor-to-ceiling windows and nature-inspired interiors.
For meetings and events, 1 Hotel Tokyo offers more than 460 sqm of flexible event space, including the Sakura and Camellia rooms on the 38th floor, both benefiting from natural light and skyline views.
The signature restaurant includes dedicated private dining rooms, designed for executive lunches, hosted dinners and small-group entertaining, with menus built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.
Additional dining venues include an all-day lobby lounge and bar, as well as a casual café concept.
With biophilic design a hallmark of the brand founded by Starwood’s Barry Sternlicht, public areas incorporate preserved greenery, botanical installations and natural materials. Upon arrival at the lobby, guests are greeted by a vertical botanical installation and a sculptural entry vestibule clad in preserved moss, recycled timber panels and Oya stone. The space unfolds into a Zen-inspired lounge surrounded by plants, as well as a garden with sculptural rocks and gravel.
