The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Galaxy Macau have entered a four-year agreement to host three UFC Flight Night events in the Galaxy Arena from 2026 to 2029.

This follows the success of UFC’s sold-out Yan vs Figueiredo event in November 2024, which drew some 12,000 fans to the Galaxy Arena. UFC also sold out the Walker vs Zhang event in Shanghai late last month.

For Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), the partnership reflects ongoing support for Macao’s vision to integrate tourism and sports, according to partnership Kevin Kelley, COO – Macau GEG.

While UFC has held eight fight events in Greater China, including four in Macao, the multi-year agreement with the SAR’s largest indoor arena marks UFC’s most major commitment in Asia.

According to Dana White, UFC president and CEO, the partnership “couldn’t come at a better time”.

As part of the deal, Galaxy Arena will host the Season 5 opening round of Road to UFC - a tournament for Asia-Pacific's top MMA prospects.

The tournament provides up-and-coming MMA athletes a direct path to a coveted UFC contract. Road to UFC is now in its fourth season, and has directly contributed 18 Asian athletes to UFC, including Chinese stand-outs Zhang Mingyang, Shi Ming, and Wang Cong.

“In 2026, Macao will be the launchpad to UFC in Asia. Building on our wildly successful 2024 event, this long-term partnership with Galaxy Macau solidifies our commitment to this region and its passionate fans,” said Kevin Chang, UFC senior vice president and head of Asia.

“Together, we will deliver the pinnacle of mixed martial arts and cultivate the next generation of talent, right here from the heart of Macao.”

Valued at over US$11 billion, UFC is the foremost name in competitive MMA, with more than 700 events and broadcasting deals with some 200 countries.
